Xoxoday performs daily full backups of all platform data using AWS-managed real-time replication and snapshot-based backups, stored offsite in a dedicated US AWS region to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.

Xoxoday’s Backup Strategy

Xoxoday maintains a robust data backup strategy designed to support high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Every layer of Xoxoday—including rewards data, redemption histories, recognition records, and programme configurations—is protected by automated, daily backup processes that run without any manual intervention from programme administrators.

Backup Frequency and Methods

Xoxoday performs daily full backups of all platform data using a dual-method approach: real-time replication-based backups and snapshot-based backups. Real-time replication captures data changes continuously, minimising the potential data loss window to near zero. Snapshot-based backups complement this by capturing point-in-time images of the entire dataset, enabling precise recovery to any given state. Together, these two methods provide a layered safety net. If your organisation runs high-volume recognition cycles integrated with Workday or SAP SuccessFactors, Xoxoday’s backup infrastructure ensures all transaction and recipient data remains protected and fully recoverable throughout the programme lifecycle.

AWS-Managed Infrastructure

All backup operations are automatically managed and orchestrated by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Xoxoday’s primary cloud infrastructure provider. AWS handles storage provisioning, redundancy checks, and backup integrity verification, removing the risk of human error in backup scheduling and ensuring backups complete reliably within defined windows. AWS’s infrastructure also underpins Xoxoday’s compliance posture, supporting certifications including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II. Your organisation can reference these certifications directly when completing internal IT audits or third-party vendor risk assessments.

Offsite Storage and Regional Redundancy

Backup data is stored offsite in a different AWS region within the United States, physically separate from the primary production environment. This geographic separation ensures that if a regional outage or infrastructure event affects the primary region, backup data remains accessible and recovery can begin immediately from the secondary region. For organisations whose teams access Xoxoday through Slack, Microsoft Teams, or the web portal, this regional redundancy means reward and recognition programme data is insulated from localised failures—with no disruption to the end-user experience.

Continuous, Transparent Protection

Xoxoday’s backup architecture operates silently in the background. Programme administrators do not need to schedule, monitor, or validate backup jobs. AWS’s automated orchestration handles the entire lifecycle—scheduling, execution, and integrity checks—so your organisation’s data is consistently protected while teams remain focused on driving engagement outcomes.
