Recipients present their voucher either as a printed code or digitally on a device. Merchants can input the voucher code manually or scan the QR code directly from the recipient’s phone screen — no app download required on the merchant side.

Code entry and QR scanning

Xoxoday Plum supports two primary redemption entry methods. The first is manual code entry, where a cashier or merchant portal operator types the alphanumeric voucher code to pull up the current balance. The second is QR code scanning, which reads the code from the recipient’s mobile screen in seconds. Both methods surface the same balance check result before any transaction is confirmed, giving merchants and recipients full visibility before completing the redemption.

Partial and full redemptions

Xoxoday Plum supports both partial and full redemption in a single transaction. If a recipient’s purchase is less than the voucher value, the remaining balance stays active on the same voucher for future use. If the purchase exceeds the voucher value, the recipient can settle the difference via another payment method. This flexibility is particularly useful in retail and hospitality contexts, where purchase amounts vary and recipients want to spread voucher usage across multiple visits.
