Empuls supports configurable nomination, review, and jury-based voting programs—both monetary and non-monetary—enabling companies to run structured awards like Employee of the Year with full eligibility controls and transparent winner selection.
Empuls gives HR and People teams a structured, end-to-end workflow for running recognition awards, from the first nomination through final winner announcement. Whether the program is symbolic—like a quarterly “Team Player” award—or tied to tangible rewards such as points or gift cards, Empuls handles both within a single configurable setup.
How nominations work
Employees can nominate peers, direct reports, or themselves when self-nomination is enabled by the administrator. Each nomination form supports structured questions—asking nominators to describe specific contributions, for example—as well as free-text justifications to capture context that a structured field might miss. A first-level reviewer screens submissions to remove duplicates or nominations that fall outside program criteria before they reach the evaluation stage.
Jury evaluation and scoring
Shortlisted nominations move to a Jury Panel, where evaluators can score entries on a numeric scale (for example, a 10-point rubric) or use a binary approve/decline method. This flexibility lets organizations match the scoring approach to the program’s intent—precise quantitative comparison for a competitive annual award, or a simple pass/fail screen for a monthly spot recognition. A Moderator reviews the jury’s ratings, confirms final winners against program criteria and budget, and can approve single or multiple winners depending on program rules.
Reward types and recognition
Empuls supports both non-monetary and monetary outcomes. Non-monetary recognition includes digital certificates, badges, and public announcements on the Empuls social feed. Monetary rewards are issued as points redeemable in the Empuls catalog—covering gift cards, merchandise, and experiences—giving winners genuine choice in how they use their award.
For organizations running Slack or Microsoft Teams as their primary collaboration tool, Empuls sends nomination prompts and winner announcements directly in those channels, keeping the program visible without requiring employees to log in separately. When employee records are managed in Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or Darwinbox, Empuls syncs eligibility data automatically, ensuring only active, eligible employees appear in nomination flows.
Controls that ensure fairness
Administrators configure eligibility rules to define who can nominate and who can be nominated—by tenure, department, level, or location. Visibility and privacy settings let teams decide whether nomination counts are public or hidden during active voting periods. These controls, combined with Empuls’s ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure, support programs that are both transparent and audit-ready.
