Both models are fully configurable from the Empuls admin panel, giving People teams complete control without engineering support. When setting up an award, admins define who can nominate — the entire organization, specific departments, or designated roles. This makes it straightforward to run programs like a “Collaboration Champion” award where employees across sales, engineering, and customer success can recognize peers who helped them deliver results.

Approval Workflows and Approver Assignment

Empuls supports multi-level approval chains, so nominations are reviewed before recognition is granted. Admins assign approvers during award configuration — these can be the nominee’s direct manager, a department head, or a specific jury panel. For organizations running Darwinbox or SAP SuccessFactors as their HRIS, employee hierarchy data naturally informs which approver sits at each level. Once a nomination is submitted, Empuls routes it automatically to the assigned approvers.
