Empuls supports advanced data segmentation, enabling HR and People Analytics teams to filter recognition, engagement, and survey participation reports by department, designation, business unit, region, and other organizational metadata.
Empuls gives HR and People Analytics teams granular control over how engagement data is sliced and presented. Rather than viewing recognition and survey results as company-wide aggregates, managers and HR business partners can drill into specific segments to surface the insights that matter most to their reporting hierarchy.

What you can filter by

Empuls allows reports to be segmented across a broad range of organizational dimensions. Standard filter attributes include department, team, designation, business unit, geography, and region. These filters apply consistently across the core analytics modules — recognition reports, engagement survey results, and participation rate dashboards — giving a unified view of how different segments are performing relative to one another. Custom attributes are also supported. If your organization tracks employees by cost center, legal entity, or grade band, those fields can be mapped as filter dimensions during configuration, so Empuls reporting reflects the way your business is actually structured.

Turning raw data into decisions

When recognition activity drops in one business unit while climbing in another, a company-wide average obscures the gap entirely. With Empuls’s segmentation filters, HR leaders can isolate that drop, cross-reference it with low survey participation data for the same team, and escalate it to an HRBP before it becomes a retention issue. The same logic applies when comparing designation bands — identifying whether senior individual contributors receive proportionally fewer peer recognitions than managers is exactly the kind of signal that gets lost in aggregate views. Teams running monthly pulse surveys distributed through Slack or Microsoft Teams use these filters to compare response rates and sentiment scores across regions, making it straightforward to direct engagement interventions where they are most needed.

Integration with your HRIS

Empuls syncs organizational metadata directly from your HR system of record. If your employee data lives in Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or Darwinbox, Empuls ingests the org hierarchy from there — ensuring department and team filters always reflect the live structure of your workforce rather than a manually maintained list. When a team reorganizes or a new business unit is created in your HRIS, the updated metadata flows through to Empuls automatically, keeping reports accurate without additional admin overhead.

Configuration and onboarding

Filter dimensions are configured during the Empuls onboarding process to match your internal reporting hierarchy. After go-live, the implementation team can extend or update filter attributes as your org structure evolves. This means reporting stays aligned with business changes without requiring a platform reconfiguration every time a restructure happens. Learn more: Empuls Help Centre — Customization
