Empuls does not accept inbound recognition triggers from third-party tools out of the box, but provides APIs, SDKs, and native integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams, Workday, and SAP SuccessFactors to embed recognition capabilities directly into your existing workflows.
Empuls does not natively receive recognition events pushed from external systems without some form of integration setup. Triggering a recognition from a third-party tool into Empuls requires either an API call or an SDK connection — both involve a one-time technical configuration. Once that connection is in place, the flows run automatically without ongoing IT involvement.

Embedding Empuls into Your Existing Toolchain

Xoxoday Empuls exposes a full-featured API and SDKs that let engineering teams embed recognition and rewards into any internal application, ATS, PMS, or LMS. This approach surfaces recognition moments inside your existing portals rather than requiring employees to switch tools. Common triggers include employee referrals reaching a milestone, customer wins logged in a CRM, performance goals completed in a PMS, or certifications earned in an LMS. Any structured event in an external system can become a recognition moment in Empuls once the integration is configured.

Recognition in the Flow of Work — No Switching Required

For teams that want recognition without custom development, Empuls offers native connectors for the collaboration tools employees already use. With the Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Viva integrations, managers and peers send recognition cards directly from a Teams channel or the Viva dashboard. The Slack integration brings the same experience into Slack workspaces — employees nominate, appreciate, and redeem rewards without leaving their primary communication tool. As a practical example: a sales team using Slack can celebrate a customer win the moment it closes. A manager posts a recognition in the #wins channel, Empuls logs it, applies the configured reward points, and notifies the recipient — entirely within Slack, with no context switching.

Automated Milestone Rewards via HRMS Integrations

Empuls integrates with Workday and SAP SuccessFactors to sync employee data on a scheduled basis. This synchronization powers automated reward programs tied to work anniversaries, birthdays, promotions, and onboarding completions — with no manual HR input required after setup. Data changes in Workday or SAP SuccessFactors propagate to Empuls automatically, keeping headcount, reporting structures, and milestone dates current. For distributed organizations tracking thousands of employees across regions, this eliminates the risk of missed milestones and ensures every employee receives timely recognition regardless of time zone or team size.

What Requires IT and What Does Not

Native integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Viva, Workday, and SAP SuccessFactors are configured through the Empuls admin panel. The initial setup requires IT credentials — OAuth tokens or API keys — to authorize the connection. That authorization is a one-time task; day-to-day recognition, reward, survey, and discount flows require no IT involvement once live. API and SDK-based integrations require a developer to build and maintain the connection code. These are the right fit for teams that need fully custom recognition triggers embedded in proprietary internal tools, where no native connector exists. Learn more: Empuls Help Centre — IT
