Xoxoday supports RESTful APIs using JSON format for real-time data transfer and SFTP-based CSV file exchange for batch processing, enabling seamless connectivity with third-party platforms.
Xoxoday supports two primary methods for exchanging data with integrated platforms, designed to meet both real-time synchronisation and scheduled batch processing requirements across enterprise environments. RESTful API Integration Xoxoday’s RESTful APIs use JSON as the data format, enabling efficient and real-time communication between Xoxoday and your connected systems. This is the preferred approach for event-driven workflows where immediacy matters. For example, when a new employee is onboarded in Workday or SAP SuccessFactors, an API call can instantly provision that employee in Xoxoday, triggering reward eligibility and recognition workflows without any manual input from your HR team. The RESTful architecture follows standard HTTP conventions, making it accessible to your IT or development team without requiring bespoke tooling. Integrations with communication platforms such as Slack and Microsoft Teams also rely on this method, allowing recognition events to flow in real time between systems. SFTP-Based File Exchange For organisations that operate on scheduled data cycles, Xoxoday supports SFTP-based data exchange using CSV files. This method is well-suited to batch operations — uploading monthly employee records from Darwinbox, syncing reward redemption logs at the close of a quarter, or reconciling bulk point allocations against payroll data at set intervals. File transfers over SFTP are encrypted in transit, and your IT team can automate file drops to align with existing data pipeline schedules. No continuous connection is required, making SFTP a reliable option where real-time integration is not a strict requirement. Using Both Methods Together The two approaches are not mutually exclusive. Xoxoday supports running both concurrently, and many organisations do exactly that — using RESTful APIs for event-driven triggers such as instant peer recognition in Microsoft Teams, while relying on SFTP for periodic reconciliation exports or audit-ready data snapshots. All API communications are secured over HTTPS. Xoxoday holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications, so data exchanged through either method meets established enterprise compliance and security standards. Your implementation team will receive endpoint references, authentication guides, and SFTP configuration documentation as part of the onboarding process. Learn more: Xoxoday Help Centre — Platform
