Defining Earning Rates Per Partner
Xoxoday Plum allows program administrators to assign unique earning rates for every participating partner. A fuel and convenience partner might award 2 points per dollar spent, while a premium retail partner offers 5 points per dollar on selected categories. These rules are defined at the program level and stored in the loyalty layer, which processes each qualifying transaction and applies the correct rate automatically.
This means the program operator controls the value proposition directly. There is no need to renegotiate rates at an infrastructure level — updates are made in the configuration console and take effect immediately.
Tier and Segment-Based Rules
Beyond flat per-partner rates, Xoxoday Plum supports earning rules differentiated by customer tier or segment. A Silver-tier member might earn 1 point per dollar at a given partner, while a Gold-tier member earns 1.5 points and a Platinum-tier member earns 2 points for the same transaction. Rules can also be scoped to customer segments — for instance, applying a higher earn rate for corporate accounts versus consumer accounts at the same partner location.
This granularity allows program operators to design differentiated rewards experiences that incentivize higher engagement and meaningful progression through the tier structure.
Loyalty Layer Integration
All earning rules — flat, tiered, or segment-specific — are configured and enforced through Xoxoday Plum’s loyalty layer integration. When a transaction is submitted, the loyalty layer identifies the partner, the customer’s tier and segment, and the applicable rule, then calculates and posts the correct point balance in real time. This eliminates manual reconciliation and ensures every member receives accurate rewards without delay.
The loyalty layer integrates with existing POS, e-commerce, and ERP systems. Connections to platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors and Workday allow member data — including tier status and segment classification — to flow directly into the earning rule engine without duplication.
Keeping Rules Current
Program operators can update earning rates at any time through the Xoxoday Plum admin console. Rate changes can be scheduled to activate on a specific date, supporting promotional campaigns or seasonal earn multipliers without downtime.
